Music industry executive Chris Bianchi recently joined students at Cleveland State University's Entertainment Law program as part of the GRAMMYs' Music In The Classroom series, bringing real-world music business experience directly into the classroom for an evening of education, discussion, and collaboration.

Representing The Recording Academy and drawing from more than a decade of experience across artist management, marketing, live events, branding, contracts, and career development, Bianchi participated in an interactive session designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and the realities of today's music industry.

The event took place within CSU's Entertainment Law program, where students explore the legal and business frameworks that shape the music, media, and entertainment industries, including contracts, licensing, copyright, artist representation, and intellectual property.

Throughout the evening, Bianchi shared insights from his career working with emerging and established artists, record labels, festivals, national brands, and industry organizations. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including artist management strategies, contract negotiations, marketing campaigns, brand partnerships, touring, and the evolving relationship between creativity and business in the modern music landscape.

Rather than a traditional lecture, the session encouraged open dialogue, allowing students to ask questions and engage in conversations about career paths within the entertainment industry. Topics ranged from navigating artist agreements and building sustainable careers to understanding the challenges facing today's music professionals.

The collaborative discussion reinforced the importance of connecting classroom education with real-world industry experience, leaving students with a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges that await them in the entertainment business.
